Hanoi to host Russian film week

“The Star,” which received the golden statuette award at the Pyongyang Film Festival in 2002, will open the fourth annual Russian film week to be held in Hanoi from Oct. 24-28.

Three others, “Spartacus and Kalashnikov,” “Kuka” and “We are from thefuture,” will also be presented during the week on the occasion of the91st anniversary of the October Revolution (Nov. 7).

According to Le Cong Minh, deputy Head of the Vietnam CinematographyDepartment, the event will not only give movie lovers a betterunderstand of Russian culture and cinema, but also offer a chance forVietnamese filmmakers to learn from each others’ experiences in thedevelopment of the film sector.

The event will be jointly organised by the Russian Ministry of Culture and Vietnam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism./.
