Hanoi works to develop logistics infrastructure

Hanoi (VNA) – The People’s Committee of Hanoi has issued a plan to cutlogistics costs and effectively connect the city’s transport system.

Theplan calls for a review of the decentralisation of management over logisticsactivities in the city to ensure clarity and effectiveness, avoidingoverlapping that leads to irresponsibility and affecting businesses.

Thecommittee requested the revision of construction plans and planning of sectors,adding and adjusting contents related to infrastructure and productionstructure to suit infrastructure and logistics development targets, while also integratinglogistics services in sectors’ development strategies.

Logisticscentres along belt roads will be constructed, connecting storage anddistribution facilities in agricultural and industrial areas as well as industrialparks.

Thecity will provide land and resources for the construction and operation oflogistics infrastructure, while supporting domestic and foreign firms andorganisations in logistics services.

Alongside,the city will tighten the management, inspection and control of the logisticsmarket and logistics service trading activities, guiding enterprises tocomplete all business procedures and conditions to ensure the satisfaction ofstandards.

Violationswill be strictly handled to ensure a healthy logistics market, thus boostingthe growth of business.

Meanwhile,the city will focus on affiliating with localities in the capital region andnorthern key economic region as well as cities and provinces nationwide,research institutes and universities.

Hanoiwill organise training courses to update knowledge of logistics for Statemanagement officials and businesses, while working to form a personnel trainingnetwork for logistics firms.-VNA
