On behalf of municipal authorities, People’sCommittee Chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong thanked consulates, non-governmentalorganisations, foreign businesses and international friends for theircontributions to the city’s development.
The leader said he believes the support willcontinue, helping HCM City grow and expand international cooperation.
Phong informed participants of localdiplomatic highlights in 2017 in terms of relations establishment with foreignlocalities, international integration, self-promotion and resources attraction.
Singaporean Consul General to HCM City LeowSiu Lin congratulated the southern economic hub on its achievements last year,which reflected its leading role in the Vietnamese economy, stable businessclimate, effective policies and hard-working residents.
Lauding the relationship between the cityand foreign diplomatic missions, she affirmed her commitment to working withother consuls to assist local authorities in enhancing prosperity and internationalengagement.-VNA

The ministry has instructed Vietnamese representative agencies in Israel, Iran, as well as those in neighbouring countries, to closely monitor the situation and request local authorities to ensure absolute safety for Vietnamese citizens living, studying, and working in high-risk areas.
