HCM City (VNA) – A photoexhibition opened in Ho Chi Minh City on January 4 to mark the 55th anniversary of the 1968 Spring General Offensive and Uprising.
In his remarks, Director of themunicipal Department of Culture and Sports Tran The Thuan said the occasion marks a strategic turning point in theresistance war against the US.
Despite failing to achieve itsultimate goal, it truly dealt a “thunder-like”blow to the US’s “local war” strategy and attracted global attention, forcingthe US administration to deescalate the war and resign itself to taking part inthe Paris peace talks. It also opened up conditions and opportunities forfollowing attacks, the peak of which is the great victory in the 1975 Springthat successfully wrapped up the resistance war against the US, liberated theSouth, and reunified Vietnam, he noted.

The official added 55 years have passed, butthe fight remains a demonstration of the revolutionary traditions of the Partyorganisation, administration, and people of HCM City.
The exhibition is concurrently takingplace at Lam Son Park, Dong Khoi street, and Thong Nhat (Reunification) Hall.
An exhibition featuring the Mau Than General Offensive and Uprising in 1968 spring, and another on the Paris Peace Accords were opened in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho on December 13.

The exhibition showcases more than 100 valuable documents and artifacts, divided into two main parts: “Journalist Nguyen Ai Quoc – Ho Chi Minh” and “President Ho Chi Minh – Founder and Mentor of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press.” This is an opportunity to recall the late leader’s journalism journey and affirm his exceptional role in founding and guiding the revolutionary press in Vietnam.
For the first time, the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) has granted Vietnam hosting rights for the two championships, including the Asian women’s solo category, which debuts this year as an officially recognised event.
Eight teams will join the tournament, divided into two groups. Group A features Vietnam, the Philippines, Sichuan Club (China), and Australia, while Group B consists of Vietnam U21, Korabelka Club (Russia), Taiwan (China), and U21 Thailand.

For the first time, Vietnamese audiences will have the opportunity to experience the ballet masterpiece "Don Quixote" in its original version by renowned choreographer Marius Petipa.

Coming to the Vietnamese booth, visitors had the chance to take part in a bamboo dance, a workshop on painting woven bamboo or rattan, or quizzes about Vietnam.
