HCM City holds photo exhibition on National Reunification Day

A photo exhibition opened in Ho Chi Minh City on April 28 to mark the 48th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30) and the 137th International Workers' Day (May 1).

HCM City (VNA) – A photo exhibition opened in HoChi Minh City on April 28 to mark the 48th anniversary of the Liberation of theSouth and National Reunification Day (April 30) and the 137th InternationalWorkers' Day (May 1).

The exhibition is being held at four differentplaces in the city. On Nguyen Hue pedestrian street, 200 photos are displayedunder the theme of “Tu hao mot dai bien cuong” (Pride in the frontier strip).They are outstanding works of the second “Tu hao mot dai bien cuong” photocontest held by the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information andEducation in 2022.

On Dong Khoi street (in front of the Department ofCulture and Sports), 80 exhibited photos depict more than 20 years of theVietnamese army and people’s resistance war against the US imperialists toliberate the South, protect the North, and reunify the country.

Meanwhile, at the Labour Culture Palace inDistrict 1, the organisers are showcasing 68 photos which feature the patrioticstruggle movement of the Vietnamese working class to, together with the strongsupport and solidarity of the international workers' movement, contribute toVietnam's historic victory in the two resistance wars against the Frenchcolonialists and US imperialists.

On Dong Khoi street (the area opposite Chi LangPark), 48 photos under the theme of "Discovering Cultural Heritage of HoChi Minh City" introduce typical historical and cultural relic sites aswell as unique cultural and tourism products of the city.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Secretaryof the municipal Party Committee Nguyen Van Hieu said that this was a chance todisseminate information about the border demarcation, marker planting andborder management, and raise public awareness of national sovereignty.

The exhibition also introduces visitors to theglorious fight of the southern region’s army and people during the country’sresistance war against the US imperialists./.

The exhibition will remain open to visitors untilthe end of May 6./.
