HCM City hosts cultural, amusement events during Tet

Ho Chi Minh City will host cultural and amusement events at many places in the downtown area during the Tet (the Lunar New Year) holiday, which will begin on February 15.

HCM City (VNA) – Ho Chi Minh Citywill host cultural and amusement events at many places in the downtown areaduring the Tet (the Lunar New Year) holiday, which will begin on February 15.

One of the traditional events during the lead-upto Tet is Pho Ong Do (Street of Calligraphers) at the HCM City Youth CulturalHouse in district 1.

There are also numerous booths sellingcalligraphy paintings and words about good luck, health and prosperity in thenew year and Tet decorative items. 

The Spring FlowerFestival returns to Tao DanPark in district 1 from February 10 to 21.

The city will set off fireworks at low and highaltitudes on Lunar New Year’s Eve on February 15 at six venues: the Sai GonRiver Tunnel linking districts 1 and 2, Dam Sen Park in district 11, Cu Chi Tunnelsin Cu Chi district, Rung Sac Square in the coastal district of Can Gio, Lang Le– Bau Co historic relic in Binh Chanh district and Nga Ba Giong MartyrsMonument in Hoc Mon district.

The Tet book street festival themed “Nurturingknowledge- Aspiration to a new height” will open from February 13 to 19 on MacThi Buoi, Nguyen Hue and Ngo Duc Ke streets in district 1.-VNA
