Hanoi (VNA) – A high-ranking delegation of Ho Chi Minh City led by Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen is on a working visit to Mongolia, starting from July 3.

The 4-day visit aims to further strengthen connection and intensify the traditional friendship and cooperation between HCM City and Mongolia on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Vietnam – Mongolia diplomatic ties (1954 – 2024), and five years since the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on establishing cooperation between HCM City’s Thu Duc city and Chingetei district of Ulaanbaatar capital.

It also aims to promote cultural and people-to-people exchanges, and trade and service cooperation between HCM City and Mongolian localities.

The delegation visited the Ho Chi Minh School in Ulaanbaatar, during which Nen praised activities of the school to help its students understand more about the Vietnamese culture and the late Vietnamese president. A statue of Ho Chi Minh was placed in the school's compound in 2009, and a Vietnamese speaking club was set up in the school, attracting many students.

He presented 10 computers to the school, expressing his hope that students will always serve 🦂as ambassadors in introducing the friendship and the rich historical and cultural values of Mongolia to the people of Vietnam.

Rector of the school E. Gungaajav thanked the people of Vietnam in general, and the Party, authority of Ho Chi Minh City for their support for the school to improve the learning environment for its students. The same day, the delegation attended a reception hosted by the authority of Chingetei district, and visited the Gobi factory, one of the world's largest producers of cashmere and camel wool products./.
