HCM City opens Spring Flower Festival

The Spring Flower Festival 2013 opened in Tao Dan Park, Ho Chi Minh City on February 5.
The Spring Flower Festival 2013, under the theme ‘The country’s positionand people’s will,” opened in Tao Dan Park, Ho Chi Minh City onFebruary 5.

Organised by the People’s Committee of HoChi Minh City, the 12-day event features more than 8,000 exhibitsincluding various kinds of bonsai and flowers, rock sculptures, andornamental fish and birds.

Visitors can also see acalligraphy exhibition, try Tet specialties at a food zone, enjoy artperformances or join in folk games, which are available at the event.

The annual festival is a special cultural activity of the city, whichprovides the gardeners and artisans in and out the country anopportunity to exchange and popularise their products.

Besides, the city will organise three large-scale flower markets thisyear, which open at “September 23” park and Le Van Tam park in district Iand Gia Dinh park in Go Vap district. -VNA
