HCM City (VNA) – Ho Chi Minh City will do its utmost to effectively implementprojects funded by Japan’s official development assistance (ODA), Chairman of themunicipal People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong has committed.
Phong made the pledgewhen receiving outgoing Chief Representative of the Japan InternationalCooperation Agency (JICA)’s Vietnam Office Konaka Tetsuo on March 18.
He spoke highly ofTetsuo’s contributions to the disbursement of ODA in Ho Chi Minh City such asthe Metro Line No.1 project, a project to restore sewers by no-dig technology.
Thanking the cityleaders for their support to speed up Vietnam-Japan cooperation projects duringhis working tenure, Tetsuo expressed his hope that the city will continuehelping JICA in Vietnam in general and in Ho Chi Minh City in particular./.
Vietnam and Japan have achieved many positive outcomes in agriculture cooperation, and the two sides will continue working together to build sustainable food value chains in the near future, according to the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
