HCM City to host int’l track and field event

HCM City (VNA)🍸 – Nearly 400 athletes from six countries and territories in Asia will compete in the 23rd HCM City International Track and Field Championships Open 2016, which is scheduled for July 29-30.

The annual competition attracts athletes from the Republic of Korea, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong (China), Indonesia and host nation Vietnam. The athletes will compete to win 43 different sets of medals. The event offers a good chance for Vietnamese athletes to prepare for the 29th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 29) to be held in 2017.-VNA

⛎ Vietnamese culture takes centre stage in Korean city

꧃ Vietnam re-elected to 2005 UNESCO Convention’s Intergovernmental Committee

This is the first time since the adoption of the Convention that a country has served two consecutive terms on the Committee. The outcome shows the trust and recognition that member states have given Vietnam for its efforts and achievements in carrying out and promoting the Convention, as well as for its active role, strong standing, and growing credibility at UNESCO.
