HCM City (VNA) – The 2017 HCMCity Innovation, Startup and Entrepreneurship Week (WHISE 2017), the city’sbiggest startup event of the year, will take place from October 23-28.
The WHISE 2017, held by the city’sDepartment of Science and Technology in partnership with the Embassy of Finlandin Vietnam, features about 30 seminars, workshops and discussions, includingthe Technological Exhibition and Innovation and Startup Conference on October27-28.
It provides an opportunity for HCM City tofoster innovation and startup models, said Director of the Department ofScience and Technology Nguyen Viet Dung at a press briefing about the week onOctober 17.
It will also gather innovation and startupfirms into one startup community for the development of the city’s startupecosystem and to attract investment, he added.
The government of Finland hoped to shareinnovation and startup experience with Vietnamese enterprises through the WHISE2017, said Lauri Laakso, Chief Technical Adviser of the Vietnam-FinlandInnovation Partnership Programme Phase 2 (IPP2).
He noted that highlights of the week will includea series of workshops to share international experience in education alongsidesolutions to build smart cities and a startup ecosystem.-VNA
