HCM City (VNA) – Ho Chi Minh City’s leaders on January 20 held a meeting withoverseas Vietnamese who returned home to welcome the Lunar New Year festival(Tet).
Nguyen ThanhPhong, Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee, informed the overseasVietnamese about the city’s socio-economic achievements and hailed theircontributions to the southern hub by doing business, transferring technologiesand making recommendations to HCM City.
He called on theoverseas Vietnamese to continue upholding their patriotism, working as a bridgebetween Vietnam and other countries worldwide and joining hands to develop HCMCity into a modern and civilised city.
On behalf of theparticipants, Tran Hoang Minh, a Vietnamese expatriate from the US, thanked thelocal authorities for favourable conditions that they have created for overseasVietnamese to live, work and invest in the city.
Expressing hisimpression on Ho Chi Minh City’s positive changes, Minh stated that Vietnameseexpatriates always remember and are willing to contribute to their homeland.-VNA
President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan has expressed wish that the overseas Vietnamese would popularise traditional culture to Vietnamese generations abroad.
President Tran Dai Quang praised the contributions of Overseas Vietnamese towards the country’s achievements at a meeting on January 20 with 50 overseas Vietnamese delegates.
At a review conference held on June 21, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Van Sinh praised the province’s scientific, coordinated, and flexible approach. A hub for sharing best practices, the event aims to forge solutions for financial sustainability, public media contracts, audience engagement, content innovation, and newsroom restructuring. It is also a moment for Vietnam’s media to accelerate its progress and figure out what the “revolutionary press” means in a new era.
