Ho Chi Minh City fosters cooperation with Vientiane
Ho Chi Minh City is willing to collaborate with Vientiane in socio-economics and culture to strengthen the two cities’ relations, stated Vice Chairman of the HCM City People’s Committee Le Thanh Liem.

HCM City (VNA) – Ho Chi Minh City is willing to collaborate with Vientiane in socio-economics and culture to strengthen the two cities’ relations, stated Vice Chairman of tౠhe Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Le Thanh Liem.
Liem hosted a reception on September 11 for Vice Mayor of the Lao capital Keophilavanh Aphaylath, during which he said that the latter’s visit will help realise agreements signed between the two sides.
In the future, Ho Chi Minh City and Vientiane will carry out programmes in financial officer training, banking, animal husbandry and tourism.
Keophilavanh Aphaylath thanked Ho Chi Minh City for its support for Vientiane’s development.
Vientiane wants to cooperate with the Vietnamese city in all fields, particularly trade and investment, for the interests of the two cities’ people and for peace and prosperity, he stated.-VNA
Lao Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith said his country wants more Vietnamese investment in consumer goods production and timber processing to diversify the trading portfolio between the two sides.
At a review conference held on June 21, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Van Sinh praised the province’s scientific, coordinated, and flexible approach. He noted that the early completion reflects the strong commitment of local authorities, the business community, philanthropists, and residents in improving housing conditions for disadvantaged groups.
The VNA delegation, led by General Director Vu Viet Trang, actively participated in the event, engaging in both professional and diplomatic activities.

A hub for sharing best practices, the event aims to forge solutions for financial sustainability, public media contracts, audience engagement, content innovation, and newsroom restructuring. It is also a moment for Vietnam’s media to accelerate its progress and figure out what the “revolutionary press” means in a new era.
From “Thanh nien”, Vietnam’s first revolutionary newspaper founded by Nguyen Ai Quoc (later President Ho Chi Minh) on June 21, 1925, the revolutionary press has remained devoted to its sacred missions -accompanying the nation, serving the Fatherland, and working for the people.
