The two residents in northern Thai Nguyen province were captured when theydrove through Phong Phu commune, Tan Lac district, Hoa Binh province, accordingto the police.
They are being detained and their houses were searched in service of furtherinvestigations.
On November 22, policeof Nam Tu Liem district in Hanoi busted a drug trafficking ring in northernVietnam involving 40 heroin bricks and 17,851 synthetic drug pills.
The ring involved MaTuan Hung (Thai Nguyen province), Trang A Trang (Hoa Binh province) and SongThi Do (Son La province).
The ring earlier had transported drugs through Son La, Hoa Binh, Hanoi, ThaiNguyen and Hai Phong city.
The People’s Court of Ho Chi Minh City on August 23 sentenced two people to death and six to life in prison for involvement in the trafficking of 213 heroin bricks.
