Hoi An makes its way into world's 25 best cities list
The ancient Hoi An town in Vietnam’s central province of Quang Nam has found itself voted to the 20th place in a new global listing of 25 best cities chosen by readers of US magazine Travel + Leisure.

Hanoi (VNA) – The ancient Hoi An townin Vietnam’s central province of Quang Nam has found itself voted to the 20thplace in a new global listing of 25 best cities chosen by readers of USmagazine Travel Leisure.
Readers ranked the cities based on factors such as the quality ofhotels and restaurants, cultural heritage, attractions, cuisine, and COVID-19protocols.
Oaxaca in Mexico was voted the best city with a score of 92.96. SanMiguel de Allende in Mexico came second followed by Ubud in Indonesia.
Hoi An used to be a busy international commercialport from the 16th to 19th centuries, attracting merchant ships from China andJapan. It is a World Heritage site recognized by UNESCO.
Recently, Dubai-based Time Out magazine has alsolisted Hoi An among "the very best places" to travel to in July withwarm weather.
"As the monsoon rains fall in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City,savvy travelers in Vietnam head to the central coast where the weather is dryand warm," the magazine said./.
The popular tourist town of Hoi An in the central province of Quang Nam welcomed 126 foreign tourists on April 5 following the hiatus caused by COVID-19.
Hanoi motorbike tour and Hoi An cooking class have been selected by readers of US travel site Tripadvisor as two of the 25 best travel experiences in Asia.
The ancient riverbank town of Hoi An in the central province of Quang Nam, which used to be a trading post with historical richness, was recently reviewed by The Travel website as an ideal place for foreign visitors who want to see the exotic culture of Vietnam.
The ambassador noted that among the 300,000 Vietnamese residing in the RoK, around 3,000 are living in Pyeongtaek and contributing actively to the local economy. Ho expressed his hope that the local authorities will continue support the overseas Vietnamese community in the city.
This is the first time since the adoption of the Convention that a country has served two consecutive terms on the Committee. The outcome shows the trust and recognition that member states have given Vietnam for its efforts and achievements in carrying out and promoting the Convention, as well as for its active role, strong standing, and growing credibility at UNESCO.
Quang Duc pottery is known for its wide range of forms, including wine bottles, jars, lime pots, vases, plant pots, incense burners and candle stands. Decorative motifs are equally rich, featuring mythical creatures, pastoral scenes, floral patterns, deer, peacocks, bats and more.
