Hanoi (VNA) – Honda Vietnam and Vietnam Post on June 26 held a handover ceremony for 205 Honda Benly e: electric motorbikes, reinforcing their joint commitment to green transition and carbon neutrality by 2050.

The vehicles will be deployed for mail and parcel delivery by Hanoi Post, marking another step in the strategic partnership between the two firms since 2021. With this batch, the total number of electric motorbikes Honda has supplied to Vietnam Post has reached 405, operating primarily in key cities such as Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

According to Vietnam Post, the e-bike fleet has already covered a total distance of over 65,000km, receiving positive feedback from postal workers for its durability, load capacity, and overall performance.

Honda Benly "e" is purpose-built for cargo transport, featuring a design that accommodates large parcels while offering low operating costs and convenient maintenance. Its battery-powered operation also contributes to reducing carbon dioxide emissions in urban areas, aligning with the country’s sustainable development goals.

At the event, Honda Vietnam General Director Sayaka Arai reaffirmed the company’s support for Vietnam’s carbon neutrality goals, noting that this partnership also represents a broader shift toward green transport in the logistics sector.

Bui Van Hoang, Director of Hanoi Post, highlighted the environmental benefits of switching to electric motorbikes, particularly in urban delivery contexts. He added that the latest model’s improved battery capacity and high efficiency would meet operational needs in both inner-city and suburban areas.

Looking ahead, Honda Vietnam plans to introduce additional electric models, such as ICON e: and CUV e:, to expand its product lineup and support more businesses in transitioning to sustainable mobility.

ꩲ The cooperation between Honda Vietnam and Vietnam Post is a pioneering model for eco-friendly transport in Vietnam’s logistics industry, contributing to both carbon reduction and national green growth objectives./.
