Honduras President wishes to step up ties with Vietnam

Mexico City (VNA) –
President of the Republic ofHonduras Juan Orlando Hernández Alvarado haspledged to instruct the Honduras foreign ministry to promote comprehensive cooperationwith Vietnam.

He made the commitment at an online meeting with VietnameseAmbassador to Mexico Nguyen Hoai Duong who has also been appointed to beAmbassador to Honduras.

The Honduras leader said Vietnam is a wonderful country that hasset an example for other developing countries.

Duong presented his credentials to the Honduras President, and extendedthe greetings of Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trongto President Juan Orlando Hernández Alvarado.The diplomat reiterated the Vietnamese top leader’s invitation to the Honduras Presidentto pay an official visit to Vietnam when possible.

The ambassador promised to do his best to enhancepartnerships between the two countries across spheres, particularly in trade andinvestment.

Vietnam and Honduras established diplomatic tieson May 17, 2005. Despite limited delegation exchanges, the two countries havemaintained their coordination and cooperation at international forums andorganisations to which both are members./.
