Hue receives 41,000 foreign visitors for Tet

As many as 60,000 tourists, including nearly 41,000 foreign visitors visited imperial Hue’s relics in the central province of Thua Thien–Hue during the first three days of Tet (the Lunar New Year)-the Year of the Horse.

The day between January 31 toFebruary 2 saw high-end hotels almost filled to capacity with over 90percent occupancy. The whole province now has 526 lodging facilitieswith some 10,000 rooms.

Besides discovering more aboutVietnam’s Tet festival, the visitors had a large choice of traditionalVietnamese dishes to enjoy, adding to the festive atmosphere inVietnam’s ancient capital.

According to the Hue RelicsPreservation Centre (HRPC), the tourists had an opportunity to join theLunar New Year’s Eve party, receive gifts and enjoy Tet feasts, such asthe performance of Nha Nhac at the Duyet Thi Duong Theatre, maritalart.

As in past years, HRPC will offer free entrance into HueCitadel (Dai Noi), An Dinh Palace and all imperial tombs between thefirst and third days of the traditional New Year.

TheNew Year activities have also included huge floral displays,demonstrations of Sea God worship and art exhibitions across the cityand nine other districts of the province.-VNA
