Jakarta (VNA) – Indonesia has beenincluded in the list of 10 small-medium income countries with the largestforeign debt in the world, revealed a report of the World Bank (WB).
Data from the WB showed that the country’sforeign debt saw an upward trend through the year. Indonesia's external debt rose to 402.08billion USD in 2019, from 179.4 billion USD recorded 10 years earlier. Last year, long-term debt reached 354.54billion USD while short-term one only stood at 44.79 billion USD. The WB noted that the foreign debt of low-and middle-income countries across the globe hit 8 trillion USD in 2019. The figureincreased by 5.4 percent from the previous year./.
