Hanoi (VNA) – President Joko Widodo on December6 said Indonesia is one of the five countries in the world that have managed tocontrol the COVID-19 pandemic at level 1.

He said it shows the nation's ability to deal with challenges, turningdifficulties and challenges into opportunities.

According to him, Indonesia has been very careful in issuingpolicies so that it is able to control the COVID-19 pandemic and restore the economysimultaneously.

In the past 24 hours, the country recorded 196 new cases ofCOVID-19, bringing its caseload since March 2020 to 4,257,685.

The same day, the Lao Ministry of Health confirmed 889 newinfections, down 475 cases from the previous day.

Laos has to date logged 80,722 cases and 210 deaths./.
