Hanoi (VNA) – Indonesia has officially entered the race to become the2032 Olympic Games host after submitting a letter to the International OlympicCommittee (IOC).
Indonesia’s news agency Antara quoted thecountry’s Ambassador to Switzerland Muliaman D. Hadad as saying that: "TheIOC has recognised Indonesia's capability while organising the 2018 Asian Gamesand Para Games that were successful.”
“I think this is quite a strong foundation,"he added.
If the archipelago nation wins the opportunityto host the 2032 Summer Olympics, it would become the fourth Asian country todo so, after Japan, China and the Republic of Korea.
The IOC will pick the 2032 host by the year2025.
Tokyo of Japan, Paris of France, and Los Angelesof the US are respectively the Olympic Games hosts for 2020, 2024, and2028.-VNA
