Indonesia, China carry out priority projects

The Indonesian government held a high-level meeting with its Chinese counterpart on June 6 to discuss an agenda of cooperation in the fields of priority projects, trade, economy and investment, according to Indonesia’s national news agency Antara.

Hanoi (VNA) – TheIndonesian government held a high-level meeting with its Chinese counterpart onJune 6 to discuss an agenda of cooperation in the fields of priority projects,trade, economy and investment, according to Indonesia’s national news agencyAntara.

In a writtenstatement, Indonesian Minister of State Owned Enterprises Erick Thohir said thatthe countries’ strategic development projects are carried out not only in Javabut also eastern Indonesia, notably through the construction of a fishery portin Ambon, as part of efforts to make the national fishery estate programme asuccess.

The projects willinvolve state-owned companies to foster development in a number of regions inIndonesia.

The cooperation iscarried on an equitable basis with due attention to strategic nationalinterests, he said, adding that it is based on similarity and equitabilitybetween the two partner countries.

Meanwhile, CoordinatingMinister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Panjaitan said themeeting was held in the framework of a high-level dialogue on cooperationmechanism (HDCM).

The agenda of themeeting was a manifestation of the two countries' commitment to forgecooperation in responding to global challenges, he said.

The two countriesagreed to establish mutually beneficial cooperation in the fields of state-ownedfirms, finance, investment, health and maritime affairs./.
