Indonesian President hosts welcome ceremony for President Nguyen Xuan Phuc

Bogor (VNA) – President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, who ison a State visit to Indonesia, was welcomed by his counterpart Joko Widodo at aceremony held at the Presidential Palace in Bogor city, West Java province, onDecember 22.
The host country held a gun salute for the Vietnamese leader,showing the importance it attaches to his trip from December 21 to 23.

After the welcome ceremony, President Phuc planted acommemorative tree at the Presidential Palace of Indonesia.
Following that, the two leaders led high-ranking delegations toconvene talks to review cooperation results over the past years and identifyorientations for further strengthening the Vietnam-Indonesia strategicpartnership./.
The state visit to Indonesia by President Nguyen Xuan Phuc from December 21 to 23 is an important event marking a stride in the two countries’ relations and helping develop their strategic partnership in an increasingly substantive and effective manner, said Vietnamese Ambassador to the country Ta Van Thong.
President Nguyen Xuan Phuc will lead a high-ranking delegation of Vietnam to pay a state visit to Indonesia from December 21-23 at the invitation of Indonesian President Joko Widodo.
President Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s visit to Indonesia from December 21-23 is expected to create new opportunities for Vietnam-Indonesia relations, particularly bilateral trade which is expected to reach 15 billion USD by 2028.
Vietnam and Indonesia have enjoyed fruitful relations since they established diplomatic relations in 1955 and set up the strategic partnership in 2013.
In the past nearly 70 years of history, the Indonesia-Vietnam bilateral relations have developed steadily, deeply, and cohesively in various fields with the foundation laid by its leaders, Indonesian veteran journalist Mohammah Anthoni wrote in an article on Antara news agency on December 21.
The Party and State of Vietnam always attach great importance to and give top priority to the development of Vietnam–China relations. The Chairman stressed the need for stricter fiscal discipline, faster digital transformation, and more efficient management of State budget revenues and expenditures.
