Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – An Indonesian woman accused of killing a citizenof the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) at a Malaysian airport in2017 was released from custody on March 11 after a Malaysia court dropped amurder charge against her.

The judge dischargedSiti Aisyah without an acquittal after prosecutors said they wanted to withdrawthe charge without giving a reason.

Siti Aisyah, 27, wascharged along with Doan Thi Huong, a 30-year-old Vietnamese, of poisoning theDPRK citizen, whose passport name is Kim Chol, with liquid VX, a bannedchemical weapon, at Kuala Lumpur airport in February 2017.

At a trial in August2018, the prosecutors said that they had made prima facie evidence against theaccused women and, therefore, called upon them to enter their defence on theirrespective charges before the final ruling is given.

However, the December trial of Siti Aisyah was suspended.-VNA
