InterContinental Da Nang makes World Travel Awards hat trick

The top-notch InterContinental Da Nang Sun Peninsula Resort in the central coastal city of Da Nang has been named as the World’s Leading Luxury Resort at the recent Gala ceremony of the World Travel Awards (WTA) 2016 in Maldives.

Da Nang (VNA) - The top-notchInterContinental Da Nang Sun Peninsula Resort in the central coastal city of DaNang has been named as the World’s Leading Luxury Resort at the recent Galaceremony of the World Travel Awards (WTA) 2016 in Maldives.

This year the resort received highest votes among13 other candidates across the world from travel professionals and high-endtourism consumers worldwide.

With this victory, the InterContinental Da Nang Sun PenninsulaResort has become the world’s first and only one winning the WTA’s category inthree years in a row, 2014, 2015, and 2016.

The 200-room hillside resort overlooking a bluesea was also crowned with the Asia’s leading Luxury Resort, Vietnam’s LeadingResort and Vietnam’s Leading Spa Resort titles of the World Travel Awards Asiaand Australia 2015.

It was listed among the Asia’s leading resorts inthe Reader’s Choice Awards 2016 conducted by the Conde Nas Travel Magazine.

Business Traveller Magazine also chose it as theAsia Pacific Ocean’s leading resort, while CNN voted the resort as one of theplanet’s 21 most beautiful sea-view resorts.

Architect Bill Bensley of Bensley Design Studiosin Bangkok designed the 197-room resort, located 600 metres above the sea levelon the Son Tra Peninsula. InterContinental Da Nang is only 30 minutes from DaNang International Airport and 45 minutes from the World Heritage Site of HoiAn.-VNA
