Lao Cai (VNA) – An international cycling race joined by Vietnamese andChinese cyclists wrapped up in Lao Cai city, the northern mountainous provinceof Lao Cai on July 9 after the two days of competition.
As part of activities of the 2017 NationalTourism Year, the event drew the participationof over 500 racers from 14 localities of China and 16 provinces and citiesof Vietnam.
Participants competed in the 30km individual racing in Lao Cai city and Bat Xatdistrict of Lao Cai province, and in the 60-km individual racing in Hekoudistrict, Yunnan province of China.
The tournament contributedto tightening solidarity and friendship, and further strengthening economic,cultural and sport links between Vietnam and China, said Vice Chairman of thePeople’s Committee of Lao Cai province Nguyen Thanh Duong.
It also helped Lao Cai promote its images of natural landscape, people andtourism potential to locals and international friends, he added.-VNA
