— The third VTV International Cycling Tournament– Ton Hoa Sen Cup – was launched on August 15 in Ho Chi Minh City.

The event is being-organised by VTV and the Vietnam Cycling Federation (VCF) tocelebrate the 73rd anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19) andNational Day (September 2).
 
During a press conference at the launch ceremony, the organising board said 80cyclists from six domestic cycling teams and six foreign clubs would compete inover 14 stages covering 1,800km.

“This is a big event and an opportunity for domestic and foreign teams toenhance their skills. It is also a chance for Vietnam to highlight its mostbeautiful sites, culture, history and people.”

♛ The race will start on September 2 and run from Hanoi to Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, QuangBinh, Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Binh Dinh, Gia Lai, Dak Lak and Binh Phuoc,before finishing in Ho Chi Minh City on September 16.-VNA

ꦇ Vietnam re-elected to 2005 UNESCO Convention’s Intergovernmental Committee
