Four ministers from Japan and the UK on February 3 voiced serious concern about the situation in the East Sea (South China Sea) and East China Sea and opposed any unilateral attempts to change the status quo, according to Reuters.

Hanoi (VNA) - Four ministers from Japan and the UK on February 3 voicedserious concern about the situation in the East Sea (South China Sea) and EastChina Sea and opposed any unilateral attempts to change the status quo, accordingto Reuters.

The joint statement wasissued after an online meeting of Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi andDefence Minister Nobuo Kishi of Japan, and their respective British counterpartsDominic Raab and Ben Wallace.

The four ministersreaffirmed the importance of upholding freedom of navigation and overflightabove the East Sea and urged all parties to exercise self-restraint and refrainfrom activities likely to raise tensions, the statement said./.
