Japanese firms seek investment opportunities in Vietnam

The Vietnam-Japan Investment Cooperation Forum was held in Yokohama by Kanagawa Prefecture and Vietnam' Ministry of Planning and Investment and the Embassy of Vietnam in Japan.

Tokyo (VNA) - TheVietnam-Japan Investment Cooperation Forum was held on September 15 in Yokohamaby Kanagawa Prefecture in collaboration with the Ministry of Planning andInvestment and the Embassy of Vietnam in Japan.

The event saw the participation ofdelegates from nearly 200 Japanese enterprises and more than 40 enterprises inVietnam’s provinces of Dak Lak, Ha Nam, Hung Yen and Hau Giang.

Speaking at the forum, Governor of KanagawaPrefecture Kuroiwa Yuji spoke highly of Vietnam's investment environment withits abundant labour force, maintaining a high economic growth rate of over 6percent, and its favourable policies, as well as improved administrativeprocedures.

Governor Kuroiwa Yuji expressed his hope through the forum that Japanesebusinesses will continue to invest more in Vietnam.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Nguyen QuocCuong said that the friendship Vietnam and Japan is the cornerstone of economiccooperation between the two countries, he added that Vietnam is becoming one ofthe most attractive investment destinations for Japanese businesses.

He thanked the Kanagawa Prefecture for organising the forum while praising theefforts of Governor Kuroiwa Yuji in contributing to better bilateral relations.

Representatives from the provinces of DakLak, Ha Nam, Hung Yen and Hau Giang introduced their strengths, potential and incentivesto Japanese enterprises. The presentation attracted the attention of manyJapanese businesses.

Kanagawa has a population of about 9million, second only in Japan after Tokyo, with GDP of more than 300 billionUSD. It is also one of Japan's most invested provinces by Vietnam. The provincehas its own industrial park in Hung Yen.-VNA
