A wide variety of Japanese handicrafts are being on display at the JapanFoundation Centre for Cultural Exchange in Hanoi.
Opened on April 23, the exhibition, themed “Japan Handmade: Crafts& Design from Kyoto”, is part of activities to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic ties.
It showcases a number of handicrafts made by young artisans from Kyoto,the former imperial capital of Japan , which is world-renowned fortraditional crafts and craftsmen.
The exhibitsreflect the artisans’ efforts in applying the time-honoured techniquesof Japanese art and craft to create inspiring new designs withcontemporary international appeal.
The exhibition,jointly organised by the Japan Foundation Centre for Cultural Exchange,Hanoi University of Industrial Fine Arts and the Consulate General ofJapan in Ho Chi Minh City, will last until May 12.-VNA
Nguyen Trong Nha Uyen has made history for Vietnam’s dancesport by clinching a bronze medal in the solo Latin category at the WDSF World Championship 2025 in Germany.

The exhibition showcases more than 100 valuable documents and artifacts, divided into two main parts: “Journalist Nguyen Ai Quoc – Ho Chi Minh” and “President Ho Chi Minh – Founder and Mentor of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press.” This is an opportunity to recall the late leader’s journalism journey and affirm his exceptional role in founding and guiding the revolutionary press in Vietnam.
For the first time, the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) has granted Vietnam hosting rights for the two championships, including the Asian women’s solo category, which debuts this year as an officially recognised event.
