Japanese media spotlight Vietnamese NA Chairman’s visit to Japan

Tokyo (VNA) – Prominent Japanese media outlets, including Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK) and Jiji news agency, have highlighted the De✤cember 5 meeting in Tokyo between Vietnam’s National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and J🎀apanese Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru.

The official website of the Japanese Prime Minister’s Office featured a photo of Chairman Man and Prime Minister Ishiba shaking hands, accompanied by coverage of their discussions. The Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs also published an overview of the meeting, noting Prime Minister Ishiba’s warm welcome to Chairman Man. According to the ministry, PM Ishiba recalled previous meetings with Vietnamese counterpart Pham Minh Chinh in October and State President Luong Cuong in November this year, expressing his desire to continue to strengthen bilateral cooperation through high-level communications. In response, Man appreciated the Japanese side for their hospitality during his visit and expressed his desire to cooperate with Ishiba under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Both sides agreed to continue to deepen the cooperation, including inter-parliamentary and inter-local exchanges. They also pledged to strengthen cooperation in various areas, including in the areas of economy, security, and people-to-people exchanges. NHK prominently covered the meeting in its news bulletin. It reported that Prime Minister Ishiba emphasised his resolve to deepen bilateral relations through mutual understanding between the two countries’ leaders. Chairman Man, in turn, reaffirmed his aspiration to work closely with PM Ishiba to further solidify the Vietnam-Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
NHK also highlighted the leaders' shared commitment to fostering cooperation in critical areas, including economic development, security, and cultural exchanges, while strengthening ties between their parliaments and localities. The Jiji News Agency described the meeting as a significant diplomatic activity. It quoted Prime Minister Ishiba’s emphasis on realising bilateral cooperation through high-level exchanges. Chairman Man referred to the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two nations, which was elevated in 2023, and expressed his strong willingness to collaborate with the PM. According to Jiji, the two leaders agreed to enhance cooperation in areas such as economics and security, as well as deepening people-to-people exchanges./.
