Kanagawa festival to thrill visitors in downtown Hanoi

Hanoi (VNA) – A Kanagawa festival from theJapanese prefecture of the same name will take place in Hanoi’s Ly Thai ToSquare by Hoan Kiem Lake on November 16 and 17.

The cultural exchange aims to help Vietnamese firmsunderstand more about Kanagawa’s tourism and business potential.

As part of the event, on November 17, a Japanese folkfestival will take the stage at the Hanoi Opera House, with proceeds fromticket sales donated to the local Nguyen Dinh Chieu secondary school, which catersfor a large number of visually-impaired students.

On November 18, a Vietnam-Japan investment promotionconference will be held.

In early September this year, the 6th VietnamFesta ran in Kanagawa, introducing Vietnam’s unique culture and traditionalcuisine to Japanese and international friends.

Japan is now a key source of tourists for Vietnam.

In 2018, the country welcomed 826,000 Japanese visitors, ayear-on-year rise of 3.6 percent. In the first eight months of this year, over620,000 Japanese tourists arrived in Vietnam, up 13.7 percent annually./.
