Khanh Hoa prepares for National Tourism Year 2019

The south central coastal province of Khanh Hoa has drastically carried out preparations for activities of the Vietnam Tourism Year 2019 as it is the host.

Khanh Hoa (VNA) – The south central coastal province of Khanh Hoa has drastically carriedout preparations for activities of the Vietnam Tourism Year 2019 as it is thehost.

According to theproposal of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), the VietnamTourism Year 2019 will include three groups of activities – those organised byKhanh Hoa, events held by the Ministry of Culture-Sports and Tourism, andresponding activities by localities nationwide.

Tran Son Hai, ViceChairman of the provincial People’s Committee, Khanh Hoa will organise the biennialNha Trang Sea Festival in 2019.

In March this year,the province set up an organising board to carry out tasks of the VietnamTourism Year 2019.

As one of Vietnam’s popularcoastal tourist destinations, Nha Trang has been listed as one of the mostbeautiful bay in the world. The number of visitors to the locality has beenrising through years.

Since 2006, thelocality has hosted many large-scale beauty contests, including Miss VietnamWorld, Miss Vietnam, Miss Earth, Miss Universe Vietnam and Miss Universe.

Khanh Hoa is the onlylocality in the country that has hosted the Sea Festival every two years since2003, which has drawn a large number of visitors.

According to NguyenDac Tai, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Khanh Hoa, the Nha TrangSea Festival aims to introduce and promote marine culture, the land and peopleof Khanh Hoa, as well as the image of a dynamic country which is activelyintegrating into the world and expanding friendship and cooperation withinternational friends.

With over 180km ofcoastline and many bays, islands and sand beaches, along with sunny weatherthrough the year, Khanh Hoa has been popular among tourists.

Currently, Khanh Hoahas over 650 accommodation facilities, including 90 three to five-star hotels.

The locality hasworked to develop new tourist destinations, including Cam Ranh and Van Phongbays to reduce pressures to Nha Trang.

According to Tran VietTrung, head of the provincial Department of Tourism, in 2017, Khanh Hoawelcomed nearly 5.5 million of tourists staying overnight, including over 2million foreigners, a surge of 69 percent over the previous year, along withover 20 tourists who came and left within a day. Its tourism revenue hit about17.3 trillion VND.-VNA

💯 Vietnam re-elected to 2005 UNESCO Convention’s Intergovernmental Committee
