Lang Sen Singing Festival marks President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday

The Lang Sen (Sen Village) Singing Festival opened at the Kim Lien relict site in Kim Lien commune, Nam Dan district, the central province of Nghe An, on May 18th night to celebrate President Ho Chi Minh’s 129th birthday (May 19).

– The Lang Sen (Sen Village) Singing Festival opened at theKim Lien relict site in Kim Lien commune, Nam Dan district, the centralprovince of Nghe An, on May 18th night to celebrate President Ho Chi Minh’s 129th birthday(May 19).

Thetwo-day festival, named after the late leader’s home village, sees performancesstaged by 250 amateur artists from districts in Nghe An.

Throughsongs, local people have expressed their deep sentiments and respect to thelate President.

President Ho Chi Minh was born on May 19, 1890 inKim Lien commune, Nam Dan district. He devoted his full life to the nationalliberation while tirelessly striving for peace and progress in the world. Heled the nation to success in the struggle for national independence andestablishing the Democratic Republic of Vietnam following the August Revolutionin 1945.

▨ Vietnamese culture takes centre stage in Korean city

✱ Vietnam re-elected to 2005 UNESCO Convention’s Intergovernmental Committee

This is the first time since the adoption of the Convention that a country has served two consecutive terms on the Committee.
