Lang Son (VNA) ꦏ- The International Day of Yoga and India-Vietnam Cultural Exchange Festival took place in Lang Son city, the northern border provine of same name, on May 31.

Co-organised by the provincial People’s Committee and the Indian Embassy in Vietnam under the theme “Yoga – connecting cultures, strengthening friendship,” the event celebrated the growing ties between the two nations. The highlight was a mass yoga performance by nearly 500 instructors and practitioners from India and the locality, drawing a large local audience. Many participants, including longtime yoga practitioners, described the event as a rare opportunity to learn and share with Indian experts.
Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Duong Xuan Huyen emphasised that the event was a meaningful occasion to showcase the province’s culture and heritage while promoting public health through yoga. It also strengthened grassroots cultural connections and encouraged community engagement in wellness.
The event featured a wide range of cultural activities: a Vietnam–India cultural exhibition, yoga showcases at historical sites, the “Yoga Shines” contest, and an Indian film week. Officials hope the event will deepen bilateral ties and open new opportunities for cooperation in tourism, green economy, digital transformation, healthcare, and education. Currently, the locality is home to over 25 yoga clubs and 20 training centres with around 1,000 regular practitioners./.
