Bangkok (NNT/VNA) – Thailand’s uppernorthern provinces will organise Lanna Expo 2018 in Chiang Mai next week in bidto promote the region's trade and investment.
Upper Northern Region Group One, includingChiang Mai, Lampun, Lampang, and Mae Hong Son, will hold Lanna Expo 2018 duringJune 22 and July 1, 2018 at the International Conference Centre in Chiang Maito promote trade and investment as well as support the investment cycle whichcontributes to an economic growth.
Provincial Governor of Chiang Mai PawinChamniprasert said the event will be held under the "Arts of Lanna for theThai Values" theme, featuring 11 activity zones showcasing food, goods,and other items.
The event will feature the NorthernThailand Food Valley zone showcasing agricultural products and food, OTOP &SMEs zone showcasing the goods from the region, tourism zone promotingcommunity based tourism, international zone featuring the exchange of culturesfrom 15 countries, Health & Beauty zone showcasing health exhibitions andhealthcare services in modern and traditional Thai styles, technology andinnovations zone, ECO Village & ECO School zone, Royal Project zoneshowcasing projects from the royal initiations, fresh produce zone, investmentzone featuring exhibition on innovations and halal food, and the cultural zoneshowcasing local cultures and performances.
Lanna Expo was first held in 2014, with lastyear's event seeing an attendance of some 426,000 people, generating some 57.7million baht in revenue.-NNT/VNA
