Hanoi (VNA) – ThePrime Minister has demanded localities seriously comply with the order forpassenger transport resumption given the importance of this type of transport.

An official dispatch signedby Deputy PM Le Van Thanh on behalf of the PM on October 10 asked leaders ofministries, ministry-level agencies, Government agencies, steering committeesfor COVID-19 prevention and control, and provincial-level People’s Committeesto ensure safe and flexible organisation of passenger transport alongside effectivecontrol of COVID-19.

It noted the resumption ofpassenger transport in the current situation holds special importance toreactivating production and business activities and meeting people’s traveldemand.

On October 8, the PM orderedair transport to be reopened, but the Ministry of Transport (MoT) reported thatsome localities have yet to adhere to this request or regulations set by the MoTand the Ministry of Health, the dispatch said, telling localities to make reviewand seriously comply with the abovementioned instructions.

To meet economic recovery andtravel demand, the MoT was asked to base on the Health Ministry’s guidance onCOVID-19 prevention and control to closely work with localities to issue rulesand guidelines on rail and road transport of passengers nationwide, withinthree days since the date of the dispatch issuance./.
