Kula Lumpur (VNA) – Malaysia said on July 14 that pieces of debrisfound in Seychelles - a country in the Indian Ocean are not from missing flightMH370, which vanished in March 2014 on its way from Kula Lumpur to Beijing with239 people on board.
Seychelles authorities announced on July 13 the discovery of two pieces ofdebris washed up on an island that seemed to be from an aircraft and it hadnotified Malaysia. However, Malaysia said that the debris was not from theplane after contacting the Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority for moreinformation.
According to Azharuddin Abdul Rahman, director general of Malaysia’s Departmentof Civil Aviation, the MH370 investigation team carried out assessment andconfirmed that the debris was not from a Boeing 777 or Rolls Royce engine ofthe MH370 airplane.
Malaysia Airlines’ Flight MH370 has become one of the world’s greatest aviationmysteries. The governments of Malaysia, Australia and China halted the searchfor the missing plane in January this year after spending over 140 million USDon it but gaining no result yet.
The airplane is believed to have gone down in the Indian Ocean. Various piecesof debris have been collected from Indian Ocean islands and Africa's east coastand at least three of them have been confirmed as coming from the missingBoeing 777.-VNA
