The signingof the deal took place at the 7th Malaysia-Singapore Leaders' Retreat inPutrajaya, Malaysia, witnessed by the host country’s Prime Minister Najib Razakand his Singaporean counterpart Lee Hsien Loong. The350-kilometre railway is expected to enhance connection between the twocountries. As travel time will be reduced to 90 minutes, the project also hasinfluence on various fields, including business and people-to-people relations.
