Masan named as main sponsor of V-League 2019

Masan Group Corp., has become the main sponsor of the 2019 V-League football tournament, the Vietnam Professional Football Company (VPF) announced on February 20.

Hanoi (VNA) – Masan Group Corp., hasbecome the main sponsor of the 2019 V-League football tournament, the VietnamProfessional Football Company (VPF) announced on February 20.

Under a five-year sponsorship deal, thetournament will be named the Wake-up 247 V-League.  Wake-up 247 is Masan’s energy drink brand.

According to a contract between Masan and VPF, thesponsorship value for each year will be above 30 billion VND (1.29 million USD),which was the sponsored funding figure for V-League 2018.

Truong Cong Thang, Chairman of Masan Consumer andCEO of Masan Consumer Corp., said the sum will increase season by season.

The Wake-up 247 V-League 2019 is scheduled to runfrom February 21 through to October, with 14 football clubs competing in 182matches via 26 rounds.

This year, each club can register up to threeforeign players in their team, which is one more compared to the last season, whilethe tournament will also start employing video assistant referee (VAR)technology.

Masan’s profits totalled 3.47 trillion VND(151.2 million USD) last year. It expects a net revenue growth of 18-30 percentin the 2019 financial year.–VNA
