Hanoi (VNA) – The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has sent adocument to ministries, sectors, socio-political organisations, and People’sCommittees of provinces and cities requesting more efforts to protect, preserveand promote the values of national treasures.
The ministry also urged making dossiers seeking therecognition of national treasures in the 10th batch in 2021.
As of late 2020, Vietnam had 215 national treasures approvedby the Prime Minister, which are being conserved by organisations andindividuals of the Party Central Committee Office, the Ministries of HomeAffairs and National Defence, and the People’s Committees of several provincesand centrally-run cities.
To better the conservation work, the ministry requestsrelevant agencies to build and carry out a special protection plan for eachnational treasure, with priority given to measures to prevent fires,explosions, robbery and natural disasters to ensure absolute safety.
They are required to promptly report to relevant agencies athigher levels on any problems affecting the preservation of the nationaltreasures.
Ministries, sectors, and localities should prioritizeresources to upgrade infrastructure of the preservation spaces and relic siteswhere the treasures are kept.
