More volumes of Ho Chi Minh’s Complete Works translated into Lao
A ceremony to announce the completion of translation of the fifth, seventh, and eighth volumes of the Complete Works of Ho Chi Minh into Lao was held at the Lao National Academy of Politics and Public Administration on January 15.
Vientiane (VNA) – A ceremony to announce thecompletion of translation of the fifth, seventh,and eighth volumes of the Complete Works of Ho Chi Minh into Lao was held at the Lao National Academy ofPolitics and Public Administration on January 15.
Speaking at the event, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, Chairman of the CentralTheory Council and General Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics,stressed that President Ho Chi Minh is a national liberation hero, a globalcultural celebrity, a prominent activist, an ideologist and a genius strategicorganiser, who has made great contributions to the global struggle for peace,national independence, democracy, and social progress.
The Complete Works of Ho Chi Minhreflect the intellectual genius of the President and his profoundunderstanding gained during his journey to seek the best way to save thecountry, and as he leads the Vietnameserevolution from victory to victory.
The translation project was jointly carried outby the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and the Lao National Academy ofPolitics and Public Administration as part of the 2014 cooperation agreement oneconomy, culture, and science and technology between the Vietnamese and Laogovernments.
To date, as many as 15 volumes of theComplete Works have been basically translated, and the publication of volumes 1,2, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 have been fulfilled. The remaining volumes are being translated,edited, and revised for publication. Meanwhile, the translation of a dictionary for Ho Chi Minh studies hasbeen carried out under the schedule.
Thang highlighted the significance ofthe project, saying that it follows the spirit of the resolutions of the 12th Congressof the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and the 10th Congress of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, which affirmthe thoughts of President Ho Chi Minh and President Kaysone Phomvihane as theideological foundations and guidelines for the revolution of the two countries.
The project is also a vivid symbol of the comprehensive, practical, andeffective cooperation in all fields between the two parties, states, and peoples.–VNA
Nghia affirmed that this is a milestone of special significance, affirming and honouring the the Vietnamese revolutionary press’s glorious tradition of 100 years of serving the revolutionary cause of the Party, serving the Fatherland, and serving the people.

NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man stressed the need to accelerate the application of artificial intelligence and smart teaching equipment, innovate teaching and assessment methods, and further improve the quality of formal education.
He also pledged that the NA will promote its ongoing supervision, making sure that every promise must lead to results, and every commitment must bring about real changes.

The country is willing to participate in collective efforts to promote cooperation and mobilise resources to advance the current priority issues of developing countries, such as trade, investment, infrastructure connectivity, making the most of scientific and technological advances for development, and people-to-people exchanges, Hang said.
During the negotiations, the US highly evaluated Vietnam’s goodwill and efforts, affirmed its appreciation for the bilateral relationship, acknowledged Vietnam’s proposals and concerns, and considered these an important basis for continuing discussions and moving towards a final agreement.
