Hanoi (VNA) - A recent 🏅study on intergenerational travel trends by🎶 Booking.com surveyed 8,000 participants across 11 countries and territories in the Asia-Pacific region, including Vietnam. The findings re
veal that multigenerational travel, where grandparents, parents, children, and other family members travel together, is becoming increasingly popular.
Reflecting this new trend, experts from the leading online travel platform suggested suitable and exciting destinations for such trips.
While travel styles vary significantly across generations, data from Booking.com shows that 52% of Vietnamese travelers believe intergenerational travel strengthens family bonds and creates memorable experiences with loved ones.

Varun Grover, Country Director for Booking.com in Vietnam, said the research reveals that families across the Asia-Pacific region, including Vietnam, still have a strong preference for nearby destinations for multigenerational trips. Japan holds two spots in the top 5, with other locations being the Gold Coast (Australia), Singapore, and Bali (Indonesia).
Tokyo is recognised for its safety, cleanliness, and extensive transportation network, making it the top destination for intergenerational travel in the Asia-Pacific region in 2024. The city offers activities that appeal to all age groups.
Families can visit the Ghibli Museum to explore the iconic works of Studio Ghibli, or stop by the teamLab Planets Art Museum, where children can interact with digital installations, younger visitors can capture photos for social media, and adults can appreciate the artistry.
Meanwhile, the Gold Coast in Australia is a paradise for families seeking a relaxing beach getaway, blending adventure, relaxation, and natural beauty.

Families can kick off the adventure at Dreamworld, a family-friendly theme park offering thrilling rides, captivating shows, and a chance to learn about wildlife.
Listed among the safest cities to travel to in 2024, Singapore offers diverse scenery and a wide range of family-friendly activities.
Booking.com’s trending destinations list reveals several lesser-known locations, suggesting that more families are interested in exploring quieter, hidden destinations. This list reflects a growing family travel trend: a readiness to venture farther for tranquility and peace.
The top two trending spots include Urayasu (Japan) and Uluwatu (Bali, Indonesia), both ideal for families looking to escape the hustle and bustle and discover hidden gems.

Urayasu, Japan, is one highlight. Unlike the bustling Tokyo metro area, Urayasu exudes a suburban calm. It’s also home to the world-renowned Tokyo Disney Resort, where families can enjoy endless fun through engaging rides and mesmerizing performances.
