Hanoi (VNA) - The House of Representatives (Pyithu Hluttaw) ofMyanmar elected U T Khun Myat as Speaker of the lower house at a meeting in NayPyi Taw on March 22.
According to a source from the Myanmar parliament, U T Khun Myat previouslyserved as Vice Speaker of the house.
The election came after Speaker U Win Myint stepped down onMarch 21 after two years holding the position.-VNA
