– Myanmar and India have agreed to cooperatein countering terrorism, effectively implement existing projects and supporteach other at regional and international forums.

The consensus was reached at the talks between MyanmarPresident Htin Kyaw and visiting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi onSeptember 5.

The host thanked for India’s assistance in socio-economicdevelopment and infrastructure improvement.

He appreciated India’s Act East Policy and NeighbourhoodFirst Policy, saying that these policies have helped tighten the friendship andexpand the dialogue partnership between India and the Association of SoutheastAsian Nations (ASEAN).

PM Modi pledged to intensify the two countries’ relations inthe fields of infrastructure, information and health.

He expressed his hope that the two nations will strengthencooperation in security, counter-terrorism, trade, investment, skilldevelopment, culture, infrastructure and energy.-VNA
