Myanmar, India foster multi-faceted cooperation

New Delhi (VNA)♚ – India and Myanmar have agreed to enhance cooperation in many areas, including agriculture, renewable energy and electricity, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on October 19.

Addressing a joint press conference after his meeting with Myanmar’s State Counsellor and Foreign Minister Aung San Suu Kyi, Modi also pledged that India will assist Myanmar in developing security and boost bilateral ties in this field.
After that, the Indian PM and the Myanmar State Counsellor witnessed the signing of three agreements on cooperation in power, banking and insurance.
Earlier, Aung San Suu Kyi had meetings with Indian President Pranab Mukherjee and Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj. This is Suu Kyi’s first official visit to India since her National League for Democracy came to power in Myanmar last March.-VNA
