Hanoi (VNA) –Outcome of Myanmar’s three-day political dialogue at national level which has endedin Taunggyi, southern Shan state will be submitted to the second meeting of the21st Century Panglong Peace Conference, scheduled for May 24.
A total of 57 papers, submitted by representatives of signatory armed groups tothe Nationwide Ceasefire Accord (NCA) and political parties, were discussed atthe dialogue.
They focused on various areas related to politics, economy, land, environmentand natural resources protection.
As part of Myanmar’s peace process, national level-political dialogues were heldin Tanintharyi and Bago regions, southern Myanmar, from January 1. Outcomes ofthe dialogues will be submitted to the second meeting of the Panglong Conference.
Myanmar's previous U Thein Sein government and eight other armed groups signedthe NCA on October 15, 2015, and the first meeting of the Panglong Conferencewas held in Nay Pyi Taw in August 2016, four months after the new governmentled by the National League for Democracy (NLD) took office.
