Hanoi (VNA)ꦗ – Moroccan media outlets have given extensive coverage to the official visit by National Assembly (NA) Chairman Tran Thanh Man, his spouse Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga, and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, to Morocco from July 24 - 27, highlighting it as a strategic milestone in bilateral relations.
This is the first official visit by a key Vietnamese leader to Morocco in six years and marks a significant step in strengthening bilateral cooperation, especially as the two countries prepare to celebrate the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2026.
The visit featured a series of high-level engagements which were widely covered across Moroccan media platforms.
News outlets in French, Arabic, and English described the visit as a strategic turning point with discussions focusing on parliamentary diplomacy. National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man’s official visit underscored the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in serving the interests of the two countries' people, deepening Vietnam–Morocco ties, and contributing to peace, cooperation, and development regionally and globally.
Commending the effective operations of the Morocco–Vietnam and Vietnam–Morocco friendship parliamentarians' groups, Chairman Man affirmed their crucial role as bridges for monitoring the implementation of agreements signed between Vietnam’s National Assembly and the Moroccan Parliament.
In his remarks, NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man hailed the dialogue as an important opportunity for businesses from both sides to explore cooperation and investment potential, with the goal of fostering sustainable economic ties that bring tangible benefits to both nations.
The leaders noted that the two sides had agreed to turn scientific and technological cooperation into a pillar and a new highlight of bilateral relations.
This is a crucial session to consider and give opinions on a wide range of issues to be submitted to the NA's 10th sitting – the final of the current term, which will review the 2021–2026 tenure and prepare for the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Vietnam’s first general election.
The signed documents include a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on scientific and technological cooperation, an MoU on copyright and related rights cooperation, and another on strengthening collaboration in renewable energy.
