NA leader presents gifts to Heroic Mothers in Quang Nam

Quang Nam (VNA) – National Assembly ChairwomanNguyen Thi Kim Ngan on July 17 presented 106 savings books each worth 2 millionVND (88 USD) to Vietnam Heroic Mothers and policy beneficiaries in the centralprovince of Quang Nam on the occasion of the upcoming Invalids and Martyrs’ Day(July 27).
The NA leader affirmed that the Party and State always payspecial attention to supporting those who have contributed to the nation.
At the same time, the whole community, including businesses,have always accompanied the State in the work, she said.
Earlier the same day, the top legislator laid a wreath atthe Monument to Martyrs and the Statue of Vietnam Heroic Mothers in theprovince.
She also visited a number of local policy beneficiaryfamilies, and offered incense at the Martyrs’ Cemetery in Dien Ban district.
Quang Nam is one of the localities suffering from heavyconsequences of the war, with 23 percent of its population being policybeneficiaries. The province has 14,792 Vietnam Heroic Mothers, 911 of them arealive. The province is also home to 65,000 martyrs and over 30,000 wounded andsick soldiers.-VNA
