Hanoi (VNA) - Deputy head of the National Assembly’s🃏 Committee for Social Affairs Nguyen Thuy Anh hosted a reception in Hanoi on Novembeꦉr 23 for Director for Asia-Pacific of the International Francophone Organisation (OIF) Eric Normand Thibeault.
Both sides discussed the OIF’s activities in Asia-Pacific and increasing the role of political, economic and cultural cooperation in the Francophone space.
Anh, who is also Chairwoman of the Vietnam Section in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie (APF), informed the guest that the APF’s seventh conference for the Asia-Pacific region will be hosted by the Vietnamese NA in Ho Chi Minh City from December 1-3.
The conference will take the themes of strengthening women’s role in parliamentary, jobs for French-speaking students after graduation and the role of French language.
Thibeault, for his part, promised to attend the conference and do his best to improve the Francophone space in the region and the world.-VNA
The French language was honoured in Buenos Aires on March 19 with a string of cultural activities jointly held by the Vietnamese Embassy in Argentina and 30 foreign organisations on the occasion of the International Francophone Day.
